Description: To bring out the evolution of the Code, the book has been divided into two parts -
1. The Act as it read prior to 1976 Amendments and
2. The Act as it reads today incorporating the Amendments of 1976, 1999 and 2002.
The readers can read the code in a continuous flow, since all the amendments have been incorporated in the body of the Act, instead of referring to various footnotes and super/sub-script.
The book is in single volume comprising of Bare Act with comments, Amendment Acts of 2002 and 1999 and comparative table between the two Amending Acts, alongwith a CD-Rom.
The most distinguishable feature about the book is the feature of “Annotations”. This feature you will find under each Section and Order (even for Sub-sections and Rules, wherever applicable). This comprises of following categories:
- Amendments – A note stating when an amendment to the relevant provision was made and whether provision was inserted, substituted or omitted and by which amending act.
- Effective Date of Amendments – This indicates vide which Amendment Act, amendments were brought introduced and the date of its coming into effect.
- Prior to Amendment – If any provision/text is substituted, text that existed prior to Amendment is provided under this heading.
- State/High Court Amendments – Provides details about the amendments/changes brought in by respective States/ High Courts and the date since when amendments are effective.
- Reference/Relevance within the Statute – Provides such Sections/Order with in the Code, which has relevance with regard to the provision reader is reading.
- Pre 1976 Amendments and Cases Cited – All the cases mentioned in comments or any amendments brought in prior to year 1976 have been placed under this category. The objective of this feature is to give a reader continuous flow of information while reading. Where any case law is to be tracked, one can do so by matching the corresponding super-script provided in the text.

The CD contains the complete text of book and comes Complimentary with the edition.
